PAINTED SURFACES
Tempaper is recommended for smooth surfaces that are in good condition. It may be applied to any primed and painted surface such as walls, doors, and furniture. It is recommended that you apply Tempaper to surfaces that have been painted with a satin or semi-gloss finish. Applications on matte and flat paints, and textured surfaces, are not recommended. It is also recommended that you avoid exposing Tempaper to prolonged heat from direct light sources. Tempaper may not stick to all surfaces. Test a small non-exposed area to check for adhesiveness prior to applying to a full wall.

BATHROOM SURFACES The Tempaper Collection is printed on vinyl.  This vinyl can be applied in bathrooms or areas where there is steam or indirect moisture. It is also a water-based product, therefore, the adhesive will not be affected by humidity.

MIRROR & GLASS SURFACES
Tempaper can be applied to mirrored surfaces, however please know that, it can be difficult to reposition the product on a mirror.  If you would like to simplify the experience please paint your mirror with a satin or semi-gloss paint prior to application.

TEXTURED SURFACES
All Tempaper products should NOT be applied to textured surfaces.  We recommend that Tempaper be applied to smooth surfaces that are in good condition.

NEWLY PAINTED WALLS
If the walls are newly painted or relatively clean, nothing more than wiping the surface with a clean, damp lint-free rag should be required. It is recommend that the walls are allowed to dry for 5 days prior to installing wallpaper.

Low- VOC and  Non-VOC Paints
If Low-VOC or Non-VOC paint is used we recommend cleaning the walls that will be covered  with a 70 % isopropyl alcohol / 30% water mixture. Spay and wipe the entire area that will be wallpapered twice. Once the wall has completely dried then apply a sample piece to a small non exposed area. After the sample has been applied, wait 24 hours and test adhesion and removability.

CONTAMINATED PAINT
If the wall surface is contaminated with grease, dirt and smoke film, the wall must be cleaned before application of Tempaper. To ensure that Tempaper sticks to the surface, wash the wall with trisodium phosphate or TSP. Trisodium Phosphate is a heavy-duty cleaner that will cut through the years of grease and scum that accumulate on a wall.

Using a sponge, apply the cleaner to the wall surface. Drench the sponge in clean water, wringing it out until it is just damp. Wipe the dirt and grime from the wall surface. With a wet sponge wipe the surface immediately after cleaning. Failure to properly rinse the residue from the wall will contaminate the surface, which will likely cause problems when applying Tempaper. Once the wall has completely dried, apply a sample piece to a small non exposed area. After the sample has been applied, wait 24 hours and test adhesion and removability.

 IMPERFECTIONS ON THE SURFACE
Imperfections in the surface may show through underneath the paper. If there are high spots, brush bristles, paint peeling nail heads exposed or other imperfections on the surface they should be removed or corrected prior to installation of Tempaper.

All furniture should be moved at least 5 feet away from all walls or areas that will be worked on. All paintings, mirrors, pictures and décor shall be removed from walls and 5 feet from adjacent corner walls that are being wallpapered prior to arrival of installers.

Make sure to include additional material to assure proper line-ups. Not all walls are plumb and level, and there for may require additional material to allow for proper coverage and line-up.  To hide electrical outlet covers and switch covers add 3 S.F. min. Tempaper is never to be applied over the outlet itself. It’s a good idea to add 10% extra material for waste.
